TB-500
RECOVERY & REPAIR RESEARCH
TB-500 is being researched for its connection to tissue repair, recovery, inflammation and the movement of cells involved in rebuilding damaged tissue.
WHAT IS TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide related to thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring peptide found throughout the body and especially around areas of tissue repair. Researchers became interested in this family of peptides because thymosin beta-4 plays a role in how cells move, how new blood vessels form and how damaged tissue responds during the healing process.

WHY ARE RESEARCHERS INTERESTED IN TB-500?
Tissue Repair
Cell Movement
Blood Vessel Growth
Inflammation & Recovery
Research has explored how thymosin-related peptides may support the body's normal process of rebuilding damaged tissue.
One of the most interesting areas of research is how these peptides may help repair cells move toward areas where they are needed.
Researchers have studied their role in forming new blood vessels, an important part of bringing oxygen and nutrients to recovering tissue.
Research has also looked at how thymosin beta-4 may influence inflammation and protect tissue during the recovery process.
WHAT IS THE RESEARCH SHOWING?
Research involving thymosin beta-4 has produced encouraging findings in tissue repair and regeneration. Studies have examined wound healing, skin, the cornea, heart tissue and other areas where damaged tissue needs to rebuild. Much of the direct research on TB-500 itself is still preclinical. However, the closely related parent peptide, thymosin beta-4, has also been studied in human clinical trials involving tissue repair.
HUMAN TISSUE-REPAIR RESEARCH
A Phase 2 clinical study of thymosin beta-4 included 73 people with venous ulcers. Researchers reported encouraging wound-healing results and found the treatment was generally well tolerated in that study.
Human trials involving thymosin beta-4 help explain why this peptide family continues to receive attention in regenerative and recovery research. TB-500 itself should not be treated as identical to the full thymosin beta-4 peptide used in those clinical studies.

WHY DOES TB-500 STAND OUT?
What makes TB-500 research especially interesting is that tissue repair requires more than simply rebuilding damaged material. Cells need to move into the injured area, new blood vessels need to develop, inflammation needs to be controlled and new tissue needs to organize properly. Thymosin beta-4 research has been connected to several of these processes.
TB-500 IN SIMPLE TERMS
The simple version: TB-500 research focuses on some of the basic processes the body uses when tissue is recovering — moving repair cells where they are needed, supporting new blood flow and helping damaged tissue rebuild.
WHERE DOES THE RESEARCH STAND?
TB-500 continues to be an area of research, with much of the direct evidence coming from laboratory and animal studies. The broader thymosin beta-4 research includes human studies and provides additional insight into why this peptide family is being explored for tissue repair and recovery.
